MS Dhoni filed a case against Diwakar and Soumya Vishwas, directors of the sports management company ‘Aarka Sports,’ in a court in Ranchi. In 2017, the accused approached Dhoni to establish cricket academies in his name.

According to the agreement, Dhoni was supposed to receive the full franchise fee, and profits were to be shared 70:30 between Dhoni and the partners. However, the accused started setting up academies without Dhoni’s knowledge and failed to make payments to him as agreed.

Despite legal notices from Dhoni, the partners continued their activities. Dhoni revoked his authority on August 15, 2021, but the accused continued setting up academies in multiple locations. Legal notices were served twice, but they did not comply. As a result, Dhoni claims to have been defrauded of more than ₹15 crore.

In a legal development, the Delhi High Court is set to hear a defamation case against former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni on January 18th.

As per the agreement, Aarka Sports was liable to pay the franchise fee and share profits in the ratio mentioned, but they did not follow all the terms and conditions in the agreement, Mahendra Singh Dhoni stated in the complaint.Following this, on August 15, 2021, the cricketer withdrew the authorization letter for Aarka Sports and sent several legal notices to the firm.
